Introducing Neuropsychological Behavioralism (NPB©) - the pioneering solution for special education children grappling with behavioral challenges. At NPB©, we go beyond surface-level diagnoses and temporary fixes; we delve deep into neuropsychological theory to uncover the root causes behind behavior, offering sustainable and impactful solutions. The principles and theory can be and has been applied to learning disabilities, ODD, OCD, sensorimotor deficits, sensorimotor integration, ASD - low and high functioning, and ADHD. Any brain-based difficulty can benefit from NPB.
For children who struggle with behavioral problems, NPB© represents a beacon of hope and transformation. Our clinically proven methods are tailored to address extreme behaviors by focusing on functional assessments, steering away from quick fixes or medication as a one-size-fits-all solution, although we support current medicine regimes.
At the heart of NPB© lies a commitment to Ethical Solutions, Human Value, Sound Research, and Understanding. We believe in the power of ethical practices to guide our interventions, valuing each child's unique worth and potential. Our approach is grounded in sound research and a profound understanding of neuropsychology, ensuring that every solution is rooted in evidence-based practices.
Join us on this journey of discovery and transformation. Let NPB© be your partner in unlocking the true potential of every child. Embrace a new paradigm of behavioral intervention, where understanding reigns supreme, and sustainable change is within reach. Together, let's rewrite the narrative of behavioral challenges and pave the way for a brighter future.
Experience the difference with NPB© - where innovation meets compassion, and solutions are as unique as the children we serve. Take the first step towards transformative change today.
Neuropsychological Behavioralism © is the brainchild (excuse the pun) of Dr. Marie Filion. With nearly twenty years of clinical experience working with special education children and adolescents, she has found that many behaviors can be explained by the neuropsychology and neurobiology of the brain, giving rise to the concept of Neuropsychological Behavioralism © .
NPB© offers clinically proven methods to help with extreme behavior in special education children, focusing on functional assessments to discover the root of the problem rather than providing a diagnosis with medication as the end goal. We use theories gleaned from neuropsychology.
NPB© aims to uncover the root of issues by delving into the inner workings of the brain using neuropsychology. Psychometric tests are carefully selected to map neural networks and develop treatment plans that address brain imbalances, rather than just managing behavior. Additionally, management tools are tailored based on the brain map that help the special education child, and teachers.
BrainGears lead author is a PhD-level Chartered Psychologist who is trained in neuropsychology and has used this method with clients for over fifteen years. Working with special education children with autism, ADHD, ODD, CD, developmental delays, trauma, abuse, and leaning (and performance) disabilities. Most of the children struggled with severe behaviors.

The Neuropsychological Behavioralism© Assessments include an introductory meeting to discuss your special education child's need, psychometric testing with your child and parent checklists, home visit, and school visit. Once the report has been completed, we will sit down and discuss the results breaking down the neuropsychology in simple terms and how to implement each suggested protocol and its relationship to brain function and ultimately behavior.
